Music Rights Infrastructure

Music travels the world. Its royalties should too.

MT8 makes music's real-world use visible — so music rights societies (GEMA, SUISA, ASCAP), publishers and creators can see, trust and settle every play. Together.

Why we exist

Radio and streaming are counted well. The places where music actually lives mostly aren't.

Clubs, festivals, restaurants, live rooms — the spaces where a song reaches people are rarely measured with any accuracy.

What isn't measured can't be paid correctly, and that's where a creator's income quietly disappears. MT8 is built to make that usage visible and accountable.

The innovation

Recognition that reaches where music actually plays.

MT8 is developing recognition technology designed to identify a track the moment it's played and turn that moment into verified, audit-ready evidence — reaching the physical spaces existing systems leave uncovered.

It's designed to be about the size of a coin and as easy to place as a sticker — peel it, stick it to a speaker, a booth or a wall, and the room becomes countable. No wiring, no install, no specialist hardware.

The layer

One explainable layer, built in three parts.

MT8 connects usage evidence, rights data and royalty statements. We are honest about what is delivered and what is still ahead.

CREATE

In development

Provenance that begins at the source, when a song is made — designed to establish who made a work, and when, from the very first moment.

INTELLIGENCE

Live today — our first product

Make any royalty statement readable and verifiable against real usage. The first delivered piece of the layer, in the hands of rightsholders now.

TRANSACT

Next

Turn verified usage into recovery and settlement. Once evidence is trusted, the path from a flagged line to a corrected payment can be closed with far less friction.

The first proof is already live

The Royalty Check

Our Royalty Check is the first delivered piece of this infrastructure — upload a statement, see in minutes what should be checked, evidenced and ready for your collecting society.

Open the Royalty Check

rti.mt8.io

  1. 1

Upload a royalty statement in the formats societies already send.

  2. 2

Each line is reconciled against independent usage data.

  3. 3

You get an evidenced view, ready to raise with the collecting society.

Three honest states per line

Confirmed

Usage evidence matches the statement line.

Flagged

Worth a closer look — something to confirm together with the music rights society.

Only partly captured

The industry has started to measure the physical world — clubs, venues, events — but coverage is still thin. Extending it is where the real work lies.

Complete, not replace

Built to strengthen the systems the industry already runs on.

Collecting societies built the systems the whole industry runs on. MT8 is designed to strengthen that work with better real-world data — not to compete with it. Their mandate and their members stay theirs.

Founder note

I have written songs for more than thirty-five years, and I have been a GEMA member since 1987.

On my own songs, I saw that payment doesn't always follow where the music actually plays — and I had no simple way to understand why. Not because anyone was hiding it, but because the tools to see it clearly didn't exist. So I'm building the one I needed: a way to turn “I think something's off” into clear, shared evidence — the kind a Music Rights Society can pick up and check.

I'm not building this against collecting societies. I'm building it for the same goal they were created for — making sure the people who make music are paid for it.

Music should be counted everywhere it plays. Let's make sure it is.
